BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Bruins honored Patrice Bergeron before the game. He made sure there was a celebration at the end.Bergeron scored a power-play goal with 2:26 left in overtime Tomas Plekanec Jersey Womens , and the Bruins beat the Los Angeles Kings 5-4 Saturday after blowing a two-goal lead."The legend continues," Boston's Brad Marchand said. "It's great to see him have the game that he had. It was a great ceremony at the start. He deserves all the recognition that he's been getting, and he's gotten over the last few years."The Bruins held a pregame ceremony for Bergeron, who earlier this week became the fifth player in team history to play 1,000 games with the club. During the first period, there was a video tribute that included congratulations from Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman and former Red Sox star David Ortiz."I had to kind of look away a few times," Bergeron said. "It was pretty special to hear from all these guys."He had set up two other goals before beating goalie Jonathan Quick with a wrister from the right circle for the game-winner."To get the win was very special," he said. "That's what I said on the bench — 'We've got to find a way' — and we did."Marchand Tomas Tatar Jersey Womens , David Krejci and Danton Heinen each scored a goal in a 3:22 span early in the third period to give the Bruins a 4-2 edge before the Kings came back. Los Angeles tied it on Oscar Fantenberg's slap shot from the point with 4:47 left in regulation for his first goal of the season."The guys battled back," Kings coach Willie Desjardins said. "Was a little disappointing to start the third. We could have been better at the start of the third for sure."Nate Thompson's goal cut it to 4-3 with 10:41 to play.Charlie McAvoy had the other goal and Tuukka Rask stopped 25 shots for Boston, including Adrian Kempe's breakaway in the first minute of OT. The Bruins have collected at least a point in eight of their last 10 games (4-2-4).Alex Iafallo and Anze Kopitar also scored for the Kings, who had their three-game winning streak snapped. Quick made 28 saves.Krejci gave the Bruins a 3-2 lead just 90 seconds after Heinen tied it early in the third. Skating in on rush, Torey Krug fired a shot off the right post before Krejci sent the rebound into the net.Heinen had banged in a rebound from the edge of the crease 3:27 into the third. The Bruins then took their two-goal lead when Marchand converted a perfect pass from Bergeron for a short-handed goal at the end of a 2-on-1 break.Trailing 1-0 midway into the second period, the Kings scored twice in just under six minutes to move ahead. With Krejci in the penalty box for slashing, they tied it on Iafallo's power-play goal at 8:13, a shot from the right point that caromed in off Rask.Kopitar made it 2-1 when he one-timed a pass from Dustin Brown from the bottom of the right circle at 14:02."We worked hard to get the 2-1 lead and we kind of feel asleep there Tom Kuhnhackl Jersey Womens ," Los Angeles forward Brendan Leipsic said. The Bruins had moved ahead 1-0 when Bergeron set up McAvoy's goal 4:38 into the second. Bergeron collected a pass down low, twisted his hands quickly and made an off-balance feed to McAvoy, who was coming hard down the middle toward the net.Quick made a couple of nice stops late in the scoreless first. The best was when he came across the crease to block Peter Cehlarik's shot from the bottom of the right circle.NOTES: Bergeron reached the 1,000-game milestone in a 3-1 win over the New York Islanders on Tuesday, scoring two goals. … The others to play that many with the Bruins are Hall of Famers Ray Bourque and John Bucyk, current GM Don Sweeney and Wayne Cashman. … Los Angeles played the fifth of a six-game trip; it was Boston's first of three straight at home before it heads west for a five-game trip. … The teams meet again in Los Angeles on Feb. 16. … Bruins D Matt Grzelcyk was out with a lower-body injury. … Los Angeles C Jeff Carter missed his third straight with a lower-body injury.LA LA LANDIt was the opener of a Los Angeles-Boston doubleheader in TD Garden. The Celtics were set to host the Clippers Saturday night. Loud chants of "Beat LA!" echoed around the building after Boston tied it in the third.UP NEXTKings: At the Capitals on Monday night.Bruins: Host the Avalanche on Sunday. SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) The Florida Panthers were one of the best teams in the NHL after the All-Star break, not that it counted for much at the end of the regular season.Despite winning five games over the final seven days and tying for first in the NHL with 25 victories over their final 35 games Anthony Beauvillier Jersey Womens , the Panthers failed to make the playoffs for the fifth time in six years and the 15th time in 17 seasons."It's disappointing," said center Vincent Trocheck, who finished the season with a team-high 31 goals. "Everybody here had one goal, and that was to make the playoffs and then go on a push. We were really hoping we'd get a little help from some other teams and maybe get in. I think there's a lot of teams that didn't want to play us if we got in."The Panthers finished with a 44-30-8 record for 96 points, matching the 2014-15 Boston Bruins for most points for a team missing the playoffs. The Panthers were 25-8-2 after the All-Star break, tying the Winnipeg Jets for most victories over the final 35 games. But Florida couldn't overcome a slow start. The Panthers was 4-8-2 in its first 14 games and played catch-up the whole season. They held a playoff position for one day (after the games of Oct. 12) the entire season."We're extremely proud of this group," Panthers coach Bob Boughner said. "The effort they put forth, especially in the second half of the season … 96 points is not easy to do in this league. It's a shame that we're not in with that kind of a total. Maybe that's something that's going to even drive us harder next year."—Some things to know about the Panthers' disappointing 2017-18 season Dustin Tokarski Jersey Womens , and a look to `18-19:OFFSEASON PRIORITY: The Panthers don't seem to need much after their post-All-Star break performance, particularly since every key member of the team is signed through next season or beyond. The top seven scorers, as well as goalies Roberto Luongo and James Reimer, are signed through the 2019-20 season. If anything, the Panthers could use another scorer and maybe a defenseman, but the team has a solid foundation in place.YOUTH IS SERVED: Perhaps the biggest reason for optimism for the Panthers looking ahead has to do with a core that's been around for a few years but is still very young. The team's top three scorers – Aleksander Barkov, Vincent Trocheck and Jonathan Huberdeau – and top-four defensemen Aaron Ekblad and Mike Matheson all are 24 or younger.HOME COOKING: The Panthers' season-ending five-game winning streak including a sweep of a four-game homestand that featured games against two of the top four teams in the NHL, the Nashville Predators and the Boston Bruins. A 4-3 victory against the Buffalo Sabres in the home finale helped the Panthers set a franchise record with 27 home victories Valtteri Filppula Jersey Womens , breaking the mark of 26 set in 1999-2000.STILL GOING: Defenseman Keith Yandle completed a ninth consecutive season without missing a game, extending the longest active streak in the NHL to 715 consecutive games. Yandle ended the season with 56 points, one shy of the franchise record for defensemen set by Robert Svehla in 1995-96. His blueline partner Aaron Ekblad tied the franchise mark for defensemen with 16 goals, first set by Jason Garrison in 2011-12.HOW LONG CAN LUONGO GO? Goalie Roberto Luongo started three games in four nights last week as the Panthers made their final push to the playoffs, and he joined Martin Brodeur and Patrick Roy as the only goalies to play 1,000 games when he defeated Boston on Thursday. But he did turn 39 on April 4 and missed 32 games this season because of injuries. The Panthers will have to decide whether they want to come back next season with Luongo and James Reimer as their goaltending duo.—
